SURPRISE!!!!!

can you believe that i am 28 yrs old, and i have never had anyone throw me a b-day party... i had 1 in the fourth grade and i felt seriously cool... but growing up in a huge family... and having pretty much no money, we never really had big parties... and for sure never SURPRISE parties. Needless to say, my b-day was never really important to me, and quite frankly i have often completely forgotten about it..SO
when my kids asked me "do you know what day it is on WED?" i really had no idea what they were talking about! in fact i wondered if i had signed up to chaperone some field-trip that i forgot about.... Eva was literally appalled! She could not believe that i FORGOT my own b-day!!
Over the next few days the girls spent some extra "sneaky" time at granny's house doing top secret things...

alright, so i kind-of knew they were baking me cakes... (notice the "totally cute boot" traced in icing and the shoe candles

Cora blew it a few times... and i pretended not to hear :)

What i didn't really know is that they had bigger plans.......

They actually kicked me out of the house to go "shoe shopping" and Granny came over to "babysit" but they were really setting up my surprise party

Cory took me to buy these beautiful chocolate brown strappy platform stilettos (yum) and when we got back Granny, Papa and the girls yelled surprise! there were streamers and party hats, cake and even pin the tail on the freaking donkey! they thought of everything! (they even each gave a "speech") too sweet!

later they both asked me "Momma, was this your best birthday ever?"
yes my little dolls... it was
